After Facial Acupuncture — Can I Wash My Face and Wear Make-up the Same Day?

Facial acupuncture leaves no visible marks, so you can go straight back to your day. Washing, make-up, exercise, saunas and alcohol still have their timing — here is the 24-hour aftercare guide.

요약Facial acupuncture leaves no marks, so washing your face and wearing make-up are both fine on the day: wash after 2–3 hours with lukewarm water, apply make-up straight away, and leave sweaty exercise and saunas until the next day. limda k-medical clinic (경희림다한의원) — 1F, Haeundae I'Park Tower 1, 38 Marine City 2-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, next to Park Hyatt Busan — explains the first 24 hours of aftercare and the habits that help. Weekdays 10:00–19:00, Saturdays 09:00–17:00; appointments prioritized, walk-ins welcome.

The great advantage of facial acupuncture is that you can carry on with your day as normal straight afterwards — some people head from the clinic directly to a dinner out. Even so, the question we hear most in the consulting room is this: "Can I wash my face today? What about make-up?"

limda k-medical clinic (경희림다한의원) is across from the Suyeong Bay Yachting Center in Marine City, Haeundae, and the clinic is registered with Busan City for international patients and holds an MOU with the Korea Ocean Business Corporation.

The short answer — yes, but in the right order

Washing: you can wash right after treatment, but we suggest waiting 2–3 hours so the needle points can settle. Use lukewarm rather than hot water, and pat rather than rub. Make-up: fine straight away, because there are no marks. If your skin is sensitive, just avoid tapping a cushion compact hard over the treated areas on the first day. Exercise: a gentle walk is fine straight away; sweaty workouts are better from the next day. A sudden rush of blood flow occasionally raises the chance of swelling or bruising. Sauna and jjimjilbang: avoid them for the first 24 hours, for the same reason. Alcohol: not recommended on the day of treatment. It dilates blood vessels, which raises the chance of bruising, and it disturbs the circulation rhythm the treatment has just improved.

Making the effect last longer

Facial acupuncture works by waking up the muscles and fascia and reviving circulation, so for a few days afterwards the body is learning that rhythm. Getting enough sleep during that time, and cutting back on habits like chewing on one side or resting your chin in your hand, helps the effect last longer. The face mirrors your daily habits; when treatment and habits point in the same direction, change builds up. That is also why we record the process with a 3D facial scan — to find, together with you, which habits to adjust.

Visitors without Korean national health insurance pay out of pocket; fees are posted at limda.co.kr/fee-schedule and confirmed before anything begins.

Frequently asked questions

Q. I have an important photo shoot the day after treatment. Will that be all right?

Usually, yes — but to be safe, we suggest having treatment 3–4 days before an important event.

Q. How many hours later can I use a sheet mask?

From the evening, yes. Soothing and moisturising types are best; leave anything stimulating, such as peels or retinol, until the next day.

Q. How far apart are sessions?

We start at once or twice a week; many people begin to notice change from around the 3rd to 5th session, and a course of 5–10 sessions builds on that. It varies from person to person, and we plan the course together at the first consultation after looking at your face.

Q. Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are prioritized, and walk-ins are welcome on weekdays 10:00–19:00 and Saturdays 09:00–17:00. Consultations are in English.
