Hanyak (한약) is Korean herbal medicine: a prescription in which several herbs work together, with the combination and amounts chosen for you after a consultation. It may help when several factors are tangled together, such as long-lasting fatigue, poor digestion, sleep problems, menopause-related symptoms or recovery after childbirth. We are limda k-medical clinic (경희림다한의원), in Haeundae Marine City, Busan, on the ground floor of iPark Tower 1, next to Park Hyatt Busan. The seven questions below are the ones first-time visitors bring to us.
limda k-medical clinic (경희림다한의원) is a 10-minute walk from Dongbaek Station (Busan Metro Line 2), and five measurements — pulse and constitution reading, body composition, EEG stress, and 3D facial analysis — take about 15 minutes.
What hanyak is and how it is made
Does hanyak really work? Hanyak is a prescription in which several herbs act together to adjust the flow of the body, which is why it tends to be used when many factors overlap rather than for a single symptom. We describe it with soft words on purpose: how much it helps depends on the person, and that is exactly what the consultation is for.
How is hanyak made? After the consultation, the practitioner decides the herb combination and the amounts to fit your condition. Two people can receive prescriptions with the same name and still end up with different contents, because the formula follows the person and not the label.
Taking hanyak safely
Can I take hanyak together with other medicines? In most cases this is possible, but it is safer for us to know everything you are taking. Please tell us about any medicines and health supplements at the consultation so that we can take them into account.
Does hanyak have side effects? If a prescription does not suit your constitution, or the dose is not right, mild digestive discomfort, a light headache or a feeling of tiredness may appear. If you notice anything like this, tell us, because adjusting the prescription is part of the process.
How long before I notice anything? Generally speaking, acute symptoms are looked at over about 3 to 7 days, chronic fatigue and digestive problems over 2 to 4 weeks, and postpartum recovery or menopause-related care is usually planned as a cycle of about 3 months. These are general guides, and your own pace is checked as you go.
Fees and what to expect at a first visit
Will I know the fees in advance? Yes. Fees are explained and confirmed before anything begins, so you can decide with the full picture.
What do you explain at the first visit? At Limda the first visit begins with listening to how you are. We then explain the herbs and the content of the prescription, and the course is followed up while you take it.
