LimDIET — The 28-Day Autophagy Programme: Two Meals in an 8-Hour Window, and a Body That Keeps the Result

The English pillar for LimDIET: why we do not tell you to eat breakfast, how an 8-hour eating window and 16-hour fast switch on autophagy (the 2016 Nobel mechanism), eating order and chewing that let your own GLP-1 work, 28 days as the cell-renewal cycle, where Wegovy/Mounjaro fit, what the programme includes, and the FAQ.

LimDIET — The 28-Day Autophagy Programme: Two Meals in an 8-Hour Window, and a Body That Keeps the Result

LimDIET is the weight programme our director built on herself — 30 kg gained with the first child, 30 kg again with the second a year later, 118 kg at the peak — and has used to bring her own weight down ever since. It is not a starvation plan and it does not tell you to eat breakfast. Here is the design.

The principle: autophagy, not hunger

Autophagy — the cell's own recycling of worn-out parts — earned the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. It switches on when the body is empty. A body fed three meals and snacks never gets the cleaning hours. LimDIET gives them back: all eating inside an 8-hour window, 16 hours empty. Breakfast-and-lunch (say 9–17) or lunch-and-dinner (say 12–20) — whichever fits your life; what matters is keeping the same window every day. Outside the window: water, warm non-caffeinated tea; coffee is allowed but less is better. No snacks, sweet drinks, fruit or protein bars in the fasting hours — they all raise insulin and switch autophagy off.

Inside the window: let your own GLP-1 work

Drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro inject a satiety hormone (GLP-1). Your gut makes the same hormone at every meal — if you give it time. Soup first (clear, warm, lightly salted), then vegetables you have to chew, then protein, then rice last and only a third to half a bowl. Chew each bite 20 times; make each meal last 20 minutes. That is the difference between a 10-minute lunch that overshoots and a meal where your own hormones say "enough." Ordinary Korean food fits this perfectly. Refined carbs and sugar are limited (potato, sweet potato and pumpkin are the exceptions we allow); protein at both meals; walk 10–15 minutes after eating; water about 300 ml per 10 kg of body weight; sleep before midnight.

Why 28 days

Skin and mucosal cells replace themselves in roughly 28 days. One LimDIET cycle is one renewal cycle: new habits become the default setting of new cells. Old body to new body — and the loss is deliberately slow, 2–4 kg a month, so muscle (your metabolism) is protected. Herbal medicine is prescribed 15 days at a time so we can adjust to your response rather than sell you two months up front.

Where Wegovy and Mounjaro fit

We don't dismiss them; the trial data are clear. We also know what the trials show afterwards: a large share of lost weight is lean mass, and most of the weight returns within a year of stopping. LimDIET serves the people who can't or won't inject, who fear the side effects, who want to combine (we protect muscle and build the rhythm so stopping becomes graduation, not rebound), who have plateaued, or who are regaining. Borrowed strength has to be returned; what your body earns stays.

What the programme includes

First visit (in English): body composition, pulse and abdominal diagnosis, a long conversation about your sleep, digestion and schedule. Then a 1:1 herbal prescription (no stock formulas), weekly check-ins, the eating plan, optional AcuNap sessions for appetite and circulation, and follow-up after 28 days to prevent rebound. Day-trippers and overseas patients: consultation in person, herbal medicine shipped, follow-up by message.

FAQ

Q. Do I have to skip breakfast?

No. Choose breakfast-and-lunch or lunch-and-dinner. The rule is the 8-hour window, not which meal.

Q. How much will I lose?

Slower than injections — 2–4 kg a month while protecting muscle. Individual results vary.

Q. Are diet herbal medicines safe?

Effective formulas have effects and side effects. We prescribe only after examination, 15 days at a time, and tell you plainly what to watch (palpitations, insomnia) — see our side-effects article.

Q. Can I do this on Wegovy or Mounjaro?

Yes — tell us your dose and schedule; we adjust the formula and keep muscle and hair nutrition in view. Never change prescriptions without your prescribing doctor.

Q. I get shaky when I fast.

Safety first: if you have hypoglycaemia signs, eat. We lengthen the fasting window gradually and make sure the two meals are full.

Q. Is it covered by insurance?

Custom herbal medicine is non-covered; we quote before prescribing. Acupuncture visits are covered for ARC holders.

Why Korean Medicine? The Science of Acupuncture and Self-Healing — Harvard, Mayo Clinic, and What We Do in Busan

Acupuncture is no longer "alternative." A Harvard Medical School team mapped how it calms inflammation (Nature, 2021); Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and MD Anderson offer it; US Medicare and the UK NICE guideline cover it for chronic pain. Here is what the research shows, why the principle is self-healing rather than suppression, and how LIMDA practices it in Marine City.
