요약In Busan, the equivalent of a TCM clinic is a Korean medicine clinic (hanuiwon, 한의원). Korean medicine and TCM share the same classical roots, so pulse diagnosis, acupuncture and herbal medicine will feel familiar, while Korea has its own texts and methods. limda k-medical clinic (경희림다한의원), next to Park Hyatt Busan in Marine City, Haeundae, consults in English and in Chinese.

Korean medicine and TCM explained for visitors to Busan

If you are looking for a TCM clinic in Busan, what you will find is a Korean medicine clinic, called a hanuiwon (한의원). Same roots, two traditions

Both traditions grow from the classical medicine of East Asia: the same early texts, the same language of pulse, meridians and herbal formulas. Over the centuries each country developed it in its own way. In Korea, the Donguibogam (1613) organized the medicine for Korean practice and is listed by UNESCO as documentary heritage, and Sasang constitutional medicine (1894) added a way of reading the person as well as the symptom. Neither tradition is a branch of the other; they are relatives.

What will feel familiar

  1. Pulse diagnosis at the wrist and looking at the tongue
  2. Acupuncture along meridians
  3. Cupping and moxibustion
  4. Herbal formulas built from many herbs for one person

What is particular to Korea

  1. Diagnosis — alongside pulse and questioning, many Korean clinics use constitution analysis and modern measurements. At our clinic these are body composition (InBody 970), an EEG-based stress reading and a 3D facial analysis.
  2. Needles — we use fine needles of about 0.2 to 0.3 mm, and first-time visitors often remark on how light they feel.
  3. Pharmacopuncture — purified herbal extracts given at acupuncture points in very small amounts, a method developed in Korea.
  4. Herbal medicine — prescriptions are prepared for one person at a licensed dispensary and sealed in single-dose pouches. We prescribe in 15-day units and review before the next one.
  5. Training — doctors of Korean medicine complete a six-year university programme and hold a national licence.

How a visit works

  1. Measurement — about 15 minutes, non-invasive.
  2. Consultation and pulse diagnosis — the doctor asks about sleep, digestion, energy and pain.
  3. Treatment — LIMDA AcuNap: acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, electroacupuncture and infrared heat in one session, with quiet rest.
  4. Explanation — what was found and what to do next. You receive a written report in English.

Your first visit takes about 60–90 minutes, including consultation, assessment and treatment.
